Service Management - Notification Creation - Set Field Selection for Notifications

This section allows you to control what fields you want displayed, and if they are required, visible, hidden, etc.  Now, I used to feel this section was pretty useless, because it was an “all or nothing” portion of configuration.  With the advent of the “influencing” sections (learn more here), I realized that you can have it notification type specific, or a number of other fields.  Making this configuration something you can easily do without creating a transaction variant.

Now this configuration step is broken into two separate pieces.  For the maintenance notifications and the other for Reference Objects (like the equipment record).  Both sections work the same way, so if you don’t find the fields you are looking for, try the other section.

Here you see the options for the General Screen of the notifications. It’s a pretty good sized list, so you might need to scroll a while to find what you’re looking for.
