Hello all,
I would like to share my knowledge, which I gained from SIT (SAP Inside Track), 2014. Before getting started with a particular topic, I would like to share my experience on SIT, which was conducted in Hyderabad. It was a great pleasure for me to be a part of SIT. There were many valuable sessions throughout the day for 3 tracks (Technical, Functional and Analytical). As basically I am from technical side, the topics which they chosen are really excellent and presented in a very good manner.
All the sessions conducted consists of entirely new topics, which made me to think out of ABAP. One of the best topics which I got impressed due to the technology and wonderful presentation from Tanmay Hoshing, is ‘SAP - FIORI’ (FIORI meaning Flowers) and luckily that is the first topic of SIT.
Let me share you some of the points in ‘SAP - FIORI’ which I learnt from the sessions, along with the points I collected apart from sessions, which I hope will be useful for you all to get the overview of this topic.

SAP FIORI ARCHITECTURE:
- Architecture of SAP FIORI consists of following blocks.
- Web Client (Smartphone / Desktop / Tablet)
- SAP ABAP Netweaver
- SAP Business Suite
- SAP HANA
- SAP FIORI apps are HTML5 apps which call OData services to ERP backend.
- Below is the screenshot of the FIORI architecture which shows how the blocks are interconnected with each other along with the sub-components of each block.
CONCLUSION:
- SAP FIORI increases productivity by empowering managers and employees to get the job done anytime, anywhere.
- Easy implementation, seamless rollout to different devices, and ease of use improves time to value, lowers risk and reduces total cost of ownership.
- There are many advantages of SAP FIORI which makes FIORI more reachable to users.
- As it is web based application and it has attractive UIs, FIORI consumes some time to load UIs and then to transfer data to server.
- Hence to overcome this disadvantage, SAP has planned to create a platform in which all the UIs are inbuilt which takes very less time to load and at the end only transferring of data takes place.
Thanks & Regards,
Imran Khan.
